The period which we use this chopsticks
歳神(としがみ)が家々に滞在する期間(松の内の期間)
We use the chopsticks when gods of this year stay in our house, called as

This period means generally between January 1st and January 7th.
However It differs according to areas, for example, it means from January 1st
to 6th or 7th in some district..

もたらせる という言い伝えだそうです。

関東の習慣では、お箸を箸紙の上部から差し入れます。

京では箸紙の下部からお箸を差し入れます。

┃へぎの入った箸紙┃
古くより京の町ではお正月祝に用いる箸紙に「へぎ」が入れられています。
京では祝箸を松の内の間、使用します。雑煮や煮しめなどを
食べた後、へぎで箸の汚れが箸紙につかないようにする為の
先人の知恵なのです。縁起の良い柳箸を収める箸紙の美しさ
を保つために「へぎ」を先人達は考えたのですね。

of New Year.
From ancient time we have used congratulatory chopsticks between January 1st
and 7th.for the celebration of New Year.
When we have zoni or nishime, hegi prevents stains of chopsticks. So, hegi
is wisdom of ancient people..
Hegi.is made by the surface of wood.Hegi is slice of woods like papers.It is

┃名前の書き方┃
箸紙に名前を書くには水引の向きにあわせ
「寿」の文字の下側に家族の名前を家長が書き記します。
但し、家長のものは「主人」と厳かに書き記します。
採り箸には「組重」と書くのが昔からの慣わしです。
お客様にお出しする箸紙には「上」と書きます。

When we write our name on the paper wrappers, head of family writes each family
names n the direction of black and white strings or水引under the words of kotobuki
「寿」in New Year festival.
When we write the name of head of family, we’d better write solemnly as 主人or
head of family.
